Koala Fun Run a huge success
Between 500 and 600 people took part in the inaugural Koala Fun today. The photograph below is just one image from the 5km and 3.5km start.
Participants from 3 to 76 years of age made up a huge and colourful group that emerged from the Norm Price Park- Cleveland Showgrounds main gate to take on the 5km and 3.5km circuits.
They were joined by several of the 100 elite and regular runners who had already blitzed the 10km course.
Calling for Queenslanders to help protect the internationally loved koalas, French documentary host and international wildlife ambassador Olivia Mokiejewski said "only you can do it!"
Today people from across Brisbane, interstate overseas and the Redlands did!
Koala Fun Run partcipants set an example of a healthy active and environmentally conscious community and helped communicate the need to protect our koalas.
Koala Central will load up a gallery of professional photographs taken of the Koala Fun Run together with the category winners and more details from the day. In the meantime we are already looking at making it a bigger and better Koala Fun Run next year.
Thank you to all who participated and made the day so successful.
